The Lindberg/MPH Open Coil-Type Element Heating Lid was designed to
fit the standard Holimesy® line of electric holding furnaces for
customers who require more input and higher temperatures than the standard
tubular heating elements can supply. Since the coil-type heating elements
are manufactured of heavy-gauge high temperature alloy wire supported
on ceramic threaded sleeves, they are more robust and forgiving of hostile
environments than the standard tubular style heating element. Due to
the heavy wire gauge and large coil diameter, higher KW input can be
squeezed into the same area with relatively low watt loading per square
inch of element resulting in longer element life.
The inner lining and sealing surface of the heating lid is constructed
of special heat-treated ceramic plates. The plates are non-wetting
to aluminum, have excellent thermal stability and low thermal conductivity.
The inner lining is backed up with insulating materials for energy
savings and a cool exterior. The sides and top of the heating lid are
encased in a steel shell providing protection for the insulating materials.
A top mounted terminal enclosure is included with terminal blocks for
easy electrical connection.
