Gruenberg Ships One Class A, XP Cabinet Oven to the Defense Industry
Thermal Product Solutions, a global manufacturer of thermal processing equipment, announced the shipment of a Gruenberg Class A, XP Cabinet Oven to the defense industry. This oven will be used for drying plastic explosives at 120°F to 190°F. The product may be treated with various solvents.
The maximum temperature of this oven is 200°F and has interior dimensions of 60” W x 36” D x 48” H. A temperature uniformity of +/-5°F was proven at a test temperature of 200°F. The cabinet oven has 3” thick mineral wool insulation within the stainless-steel floor, walls, and ceiling. The exterior is cold-rolled steel.
This Gruenberg Class A, XP Cabinet Oven includes a safety package with special exhaust, air movers, and explosion proof exterior meeting requirements for Class 1 & 2, Division 1, Groups D, E, F & G Environments. The XP exhaust blower is rated for 800 CFM to efficiently vent solvent vapors that may be present during the heating process. The recirculation and exhaust blowers are designed to be non-sparking, preventing them from igniting the flammable solvent or explosives in the oven. The other explosion proof requirements include wiring with mineral insulated cable, terminals in XP terminal boxes, and a purged, NEMA 12 rated control panel.
“This XP cabinet oven complies with NFPA 86 Class A requirements and is designed and equipped for processes involving materials that could potentially result in an explosion or fire hazard. This oven is also supplied with a remotely mounted NEMA 12 electrical control console that is equipped with a 6000 Series Type X Pepperl+Fuchs Bebco EPS “Rapid Exchange Purging System” in order to comply with NFPA regulations.”
